6/7/20 – Update from MWCT Chair

Dear Centre User,

We hope that you are keeping well and managing to cope through these difficult times.

This letter is just to let you know what we intend to do for the July and August.

The government has announced that Community Centres can open, but that no physical activities or practice for live performances can take place. These activities are the mainstay of the centre. Added to this, the majority of our Volunteers are over the age of 70 and continue to shield as much as possible. We have therefore taken the decision not to open the centre for July and August. It is hoped that by September we may be able to invite all our regular users back.

Playgroup is still present during term time, following very strict guidance on operating procedures. We do open the tennis courts for various groups, with public play on Wednesday, Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, however there is no access to the Centre building for refreshments or toilets.

In the meantime, we are preparing the Centre to be as safe against Covid as we can manage. We are completing a specific risk assessment and ask that you should consider the same for your groups. If you would like a copy of our risk assessment, please do not hesitate to ask. We will write to you again towards the end of August to let you know if we are able to provide an opening date and advising the specific procedures we are all going to need to follow.

Please enjoy the Summer and we look forward to seeing you as soon as possible.

Kind Regards

Liz Sabey
